Acupuncture
What is Acupuncture?
When there is pain, there is stagnation of energy and blood. When there is stagnation of energy and blood there is pain. Acupuncture treats pain by moving the stagnation of “qi” ( or “chi”) and blood thus restoring balance and relieving pain.
Acupuncture consists of placing very fine sterile and disposable needles along the known pathways of the body.
This stimulates the central nervous system which stimulates the release of pain relieving and regulating hormones. In Oriental Medicine this is viewed as regulating the body’s energy and blood.
Does it hurt?
No. Acupuncture does not hurt. The needles are smaller than a single strand of hair. The energy is felt, this sensation feels dull and heavy.
